My dream getaway
Would get me away
From dayless days
And nightless nights
My coveted escape
The anti-metropolis
Will lead as if on wings
To nature’s hexagonal springs
And if I get this chance
To heal of my metropolisytis
I will have made away
With a small happiness in my pouch
And if I from then
Desire to stay away
You’d know then that
I did indeed get my dream getaway
That term ‘Metropolisytis’ cracked me up plenty Zee, totally love the sheer hilarity and glee this beautiful piece exudes!
This does resonate with me on all levels at the moment, only I suffer not from ‘Metropolisytis’ as the Narrator; but from ‘Cyberspacitis’, whatever in the heck that means! πππ
That intense need to get away from social media and things, be by myself and have me some much-needed ‘Me time’, uninhibited; till the ‘Cabin Fever’ I feel so deeply overwhelmed by passes and my passion experiences a re-birth and re-awakening to rule the world! My take and ideology is simple……’If you can’t give it your all and do it passionately, then don’t do it at all’! So if you need to get away, take a time out to refresh and get your ‘engines’ working fine and raring to go, why the heck not?! πππ
Well done to the power of infinity girlfriend, you did indeed rock this! ππ

I feel you totally my dear. The thing is, cyberspacitis is just one of the manifestations of metropolisytisπ and it becomes very necessary once in a while to purge ourselves before it gets to toxic levels π So sis, what manner of purgative are you looking at?π

Hahahaha! Ditching my phone and staying faaarrr away from the internet sounds like a good place to start! At least, that proved really effective for a while now, determination’s key! So there you have it Sweets! ππππ

πNot a bad place to start really. If you can ‘survive’ itπ

Oh but of course I can Zee, trust me on this one! πππ
But for some extenuating circumstances that have made a sitting duck outta me, don’t even ask; I’d have made good that determination to rake in some beauty sleep and qualitative time of rest and relaxation, away from it all! As it is, my hands are kinda tied! Am such a train wreck, sooo beautiful and magnificent a disaster! πππ

I *do* like your poem. It recalls to me the days in my early working life, when life was all too dull and rigid too much of the time. On vacations, I would fly off for a week’s stay in a small town where I knew no one, check into a hotel, take long walks and read long books. π

Oh thanks Liz. Looks like something I want to try. That’s one sure fire way of getting that much needed rest. Thanks for the tip ma’am. βΊ

Days roll into one another and soon they get blurred….and suddenly life begins to lose meaning and becomes a bore, chore and burden….
Thank God for vacations! I sure need one…

‘Dayless days’ ‘Nightless nights’… these caught my attention and I feel like I can relate. To live a day. be part of it, rise, chores, traffic, work, traffic, home, chores, bed… so you have a day and yet it felt like you didn’t and nights which are basically, and depressingly, empty.
An appropriate picture to go with it too. I need to get away… if only in my head.
