The Meter, The Measure

A hill is a hill
Because the valley exists
But for low plains
The highlands would deny their name
I am tall
For the reason that you are short
The blackness of me indistinct
If you weren’t so white
We must coexist
Else be nonexistent
True identities fade
Where interdependence is ignored
You are my yardstick
Much as I must be the measure
The meter by which you must shine
That shine that’s so divine

  1. I think you have written a classic. I have read it and read it and instead of liking it less, I like it more. We are all connected and if we aren’t we should be. I have to add that I believe everyone is the same in essence though it may be demonstrated in different ways, but what is demonstrated is not the essence, but the demonstration. The essence begins with love. Nothing is more powerful.

  2. Hey Honeycomb, howdy doo?! 😊😄

Now, I couldn’t possibly figure out what informed this beautiful masterpiece overflowing and oozing of great wisdom, but you Ma’am, totally brought this! A fountain of wisdom I find you and truer lines are yet to be conceived and laid out so flawlessly! Kudos! 👏👏👏

There will always be yardsticks and parameters by which all things will become exceptionally definitive! But, we oughta know where to draw the lines and boundaries where comparisms are concerned! It greatly applies in superficiality….’A is taller than B’, and it should end right there and not stretched into the essence of man as it were; cause that might just be the beginning of strife and all other negative and toxic energies!

Rock ye on Sweetkinz, this smarts and ahem….your spanking new blog outlook’s astonishing, in a totally dope way!! ❤😉

    • Aw. Thanks sweets. Wanted y’all to have the feeling of home here so that’s why I changed the blog’s look.
And you speak truth. Comparisons are just what they are and should not be really made to determine who we are inside. Thanks for your comments sis.

Interesting poem showing diverse themea. Something that strikes is the message of ‘I am…because you are’

  4. All for one, one for all. Much as I think that alone– by ourselves, we are enough; in truth, we are who we are because of the sheer existence, being, word, or deed of some other person… and it is only when we acknowledge this fact, that we appreciate the life as we should.

    I love! ❤
